STOCK GIFTS
When giving securities, you have the option of making an gift today (outright gift) or a planned gift. Outright gifts are those where control of an asset is transferred to the Institute for Healing of Memories – North America. These include stock, mutual funds, or bonds and each asset is handled by a different procedure.
There are several benefits of donating appreciated stock to the :
- 100% of your stock value goes to support Institute for Healing of Memories – North America programs.
- By donating instead of selling, you do not have to pay any capital gains.
- You receive a charitable tax-deduction equal to the full, current value of the stock.
To make a gift of stock, please provide Institute for Healing of Memories – North America with the name of the stock and number of shares being transferred, date of transfer, and contact information for your broker.
